YOU CAN STILL GET RICH AS A BLOGGER DESPITE YOUR MISTAKES

I have read article and facebook posts online criticizing Nigerian bloggers (especially the newbie) of wanting to be rich at all cost through blogging, but the question I have to ask these freelance writers or self styled pro bloggers is what led them into blogging? I guess it will be hypocritical for them to say it was not money! So stop criticizing people for wanting to get rich as bloggers!

Just recently I read an article by one freelance writer who claims to be one Nigeria’s best freelance writer where he said most Nigerians are into blogging for the money, but I ask again why people get educated, is it for charity sake?

I agree many newbie bloggers have misplaced priorities and are making some correctable mistakes right now but it is not enough to say they may never get rich! They can, all they need is hard work and persistence which is the key. Linda Ikjeji never thought blogging was going to make her known all over the world but she believed in what she was doing.

Fellow bloggers, you can make money from blogging and you even become the next Neil Patel only if you work hard enough. Blogging is business and as such there are a million people as you offering the same services so you need a business plan and strategies on how to go about it.

THE GOAL IS TO MAKE MONEY
Most newbie bloggers complain about low Adsense revenue and I just laugh at them when I check their traffic stats. How would you make money from adsense when you have just 300 page views per day? Things don’t work that way. If you want to make money from blogging then you have to invest your time and money.

Don’t just create SEO friendly content and you won’t promote it, which amounts to waste of time because nobody would see it as your site is not yet commanding authority on search rankings. For you to get more traffic you need more traffic and backlinks to your site.

HOW YOU CAN START EARNING
For you to earn you must learn! Yes you heard me well. You must learn from others who are ahead of you and do that which is making them successful. These are what they did to be successful:

ADVERTISE: I know as a starter you may not have enough budgets for this but it is very necessary if you want site visitors. At least promote one or two stories weekly on your facebook page and I tell you, you won’t regret spending that $5. With as little as $5 you can get over a thousand site visitors from facebook ads if well targeted.

Guys, a good content needs god promotion! Do you ever wonder why musicians do tours? It is to promote their albums. Promote your site on Google Adwords and other reliable advertising platforms.

OPTIMISE YOUR BLOG: Check to know if your blog can really make you money, do not add pop unders and pop ups to your site or blog because it is irritating to site visitors when they try to scroll through your page and they are taken to an advert.

Gone are the days where you just use any title on an article and it sells, people tend to click on stories that attract their attention. Use catchy headline and meta description.

DON’T BE LAZY: Publish at least 3 articles per week and make sure you share them through your social media handles. Ask your friends to check out your new articles and if it was helpful and enticing they should share to friends too. Guest post on other blogs and comment on top blogs but do not spam, your comments should be related to the topic of discuss.

BE CREATIVE: If you specialize on SEO, why not write an E-book on SEO and sell to those who need the information? You can help newbie bloggers setup custom domain and get paid. But for this to happen you must have built a reputation for yourself. Your site’s visitors must trust you!

Don’t solely rely on Google adsense, there is something in you others are willing to pay you for, you just have to discover it and show the world!
