Sony Xperia XZ1 with Android 8.0 Oreo, 3D scanning camera launched

Mobile phone giants Sony has unveiled its Xperia XZ1 mobile phone, the gadget launched alongside the Sony Xperia XZ1 compact and XA1+ at the just concluded IFA 2017 conference that held in Berlin, Germany.

The Sony Xperia XZ1 comes with Android 7.1.1 Nougat and will run an Android 8.0 Oreo operating system. Running an Android 8.0 Oreo means the Xperia XZ1 happens to be the first non Google smartphone to run on Android 8 in India. Running Android 8.0 Oreo was the standout point at the conference, but another highlight of the smartphone was the highly publicized 3D scanning mode that lets the device capture high-resolution 3D images of an object.

The Sony Xperia XZ1 has dual SIM cards (Nano+Nano), the device has a 5.2-inch full HD (1080x1920 pixels) TRILUMINOS display protected by Gorilla Glass 5 and runs an octa-core Snapdragon 835 processor along with 4GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage.
The device also allows memory extension of 256GB.

The device incorporates a MotionEye 19MP Exmor RS sensor with the ability to shoot slow-motion video at 960 frames per second, predictive capture and 4K video recording. Sony Xperia XZ1 has also included a 13MP sensor with a 22mm wide angle lens and an aperture of f/2.0 lens.

The Xperia XZ1 comes with a 2700mAh battery with Smart Stamina 3.0 tech and Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging.

Though I am not impressed by the battery capacity of the Sony Xperia XZ1, I think the scanner and inbuilt storage capacity makes the device a good buy.
